Prestigious Recognition for Members of the International Scientific Council of MeDiterrate
The Foundation for Mediterranean Studies – MeDiterrate is proud to celebrate the exceptional achievement of two distinguished members of our International Scientific Council: Napoleon Maravegias, Chair of the International Scientific Council, and Yannis Doukas, Executive Secretary, for receiving the prestigious Academy of Athens Award during the ceremonial session held on December 19, 2024.
Their award-winning book, “European Agricultural Economy and Policy: Transformations and Adaptation Challenges”, published by Kritiki Publishing in 2021, delves into the transformations of the European agricultural economy and the evolution of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), with a particular focus on Greece. The book is a vital resource for students, researchers, policymakers, and anyone interested in European agricultural and economic policy.
This recognition highlights the profound intersection of agriculture with European history, urban-industrial development, and cultural heritage, reaffirming the CAP’s role as a cornerstone of the European integration project.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Professors Maravegias and Doukas for this significant honor, underscoring their scholarly contributions to Mediterranean studies and beyond.
